Pathology

The department of Pathology is located on the second floor of the college building. The department has a well-equipped practical laboratory, a tutorial classroom, and a museum.

A large modern laboratory situated on the first floor of the hospital building, equipped with a fully automated biochemistry analyzer, immunology analyzer, hematology cell counter, and other latest instruments, offers diagnostic facilities in the field of chemical pathology, hormone, immunology, clinical pathology, hematology, histopathology, and cytopathology. This laboratory is running under the supervision of the pathology department. In the new BM&DC curriculum pathology is a part of the 3rd Professional MBBS Examination. 

The Responsibility of the Department of Pathology: 
1. To teach the 4th year MBBS students regarding the basic mechanisms of diseases, clinical pathologic co-relation of diseases, interpretation of laboratory results, and their implications.
2. To provide diagnostic laboratory services to the patients attending the IPD and OPD of Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College & Hospital.

The academic calendar is divided into a total of 100 contact hours lecture classes, 150 hours of tutorial and practical classes.
The department has enough facilities and faculty for conducting an undergraduate MBBS curriculum in pathology.
