We are grateful to Almighty Allah who gave the opportunity and capacity to our late lamented father Dr. M.M. Amjad Hussain, founder chairman of Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College & Hospital (KYAMCH) to fulfill the cherished desire of the great saint of the subcontinent Khwaja Yunus Ali Enayetpuri (R) for establishing a Center of Excellence for the welfare of humanity in this very piece of land, which is the holy birthplace of the great Saint. With the Mercy of Almighty Allah and blessings of Khwaja Yunus Ali (R) Enayetpuri, Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College has come into fourth since 2005 to fulfill the holy wish of the great saint.
Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College & Hospital (KYAMCH) the academic multidisciplinary hospital of the college is a non-commercial venture and is equipped with the state of art medical equipment, some of which are yet to be available in other hospitals in Bangladesh. This is the only center in Bangladesh where cardiac surgeries have been performed outside Dhaka city some of which were highly critical in nature. KYAMC has the most modern and the only complete cancer center in Bangladesh situated outside Dhaka city with Radiotherapy & Brachytherapy facilities.
It is advised to the students seeking admission at Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College to pursue their studies very seriously because they will have to pursue a noble profession of aiding to save human life and be able to raise themselves above the trivial personal interest and to set the highest standard of professional conduct to deliver compassionate care and treatment to the ill not for mere profits but for humanity. I do also advise them to respect their teachers to acquire knowledge and wisdom.
My special thanks to all doctors and staff of Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College & Hospital (KYAMCH) who have set a unique example to deliver multidisciplinary world-class health care services in rural areas, not keeping confined to the capital city of Dhaka and not for mere profits only.
I express my appreciation and thanks to all officials of the Ministry of Health and family welfare, Directorate of Medical Education, Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council, Rajshahi University, Physicians, and all others who participated in the process to start this medical college and help to continue with its desired level of functioning.
