Welcome To Dental Anatomy Department

A dental anatomy department typically focuses on teaching students about the structure and function of teeth, including their development, morphology, and classification. This includes studying both primary (deciduous) and permanent teeth, as well as their various components like the crown, root, enamel, and dentin. The department also covers topics like tooth numbering systems, basic human embryology, and oral diagnostics.

Specific Areas of Study:
Tooth Morphology:
Studying the shape, form, and structure of individual teeth, including their different types (incisors, canines, premolars, molars).

Tooth Development:
Understanding the stages of tooth development, from the early stages of tooth buds to the eruption of teeth.

Tooth Classification:
Learning about different ways to classify teeth, such as by their location in the mouth, their type (primary or permanent), or their function.

Oral Anatomy:
Studying the entire oral cavity, including the tongue, palate, and supporting tissues.

Occlusion:
Understanding how teeth fit together in the mouth and how occlusion impacts dental health.
