Welcome to the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. It is my privilege to lead this department and to introduce you to our work, our values, and our commitment to the people we serve.

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is a medical specialty dedicated to diagnosing, treating, and managing conditions that affect the physical functioning and independence of individuals. Our department addresses a wide range of conditions including stroke, spinal cord injury, musculoskeletal disorders, neurological disabilities, chronic pain, and post-surgical rehabilitation — always with a focus on restoring the patient's ability to live a full and meaningful life.

We provide comprehensive rehabilitative care through our outpatient and inpatient services, offering physiotherapy, occupational therapy, electrotherapy, pain management, and disability assessment. Our multidisciplinary team works in close collaboration to deliver personalized, evidence-based treatment to every patient.

As a department within a medical college, we are deeply invested in the education and training of future physicians. We mentor undergraduate students, nurturing clinical competence, critical thinking, and professional integrity.

We are actively engaged in research that addresses the rehabilitative health challenges faced by the people of Bangladesh, contributing to the growth of knowledge in our field and informing better clinical practice.
