Dr. Mohammed Emran has obtained his MBBS degree in 2008 from North East Medical College under Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, and completed his MD in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2019 from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka.
Dr. Emran has been serving KYAMC since May 2019, overseeing both clinical and academic activities of the department. Prior to this, he acquired extensive clinical training and experience at BSMMU, Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Ibn Sina Hospital, Green Life Medical College and Hospital, and Chattogram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital, among others. His clinical expertise spans rehabilitation of neurological, musculoskeletal, rheumatological, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, cardiopulmonary, amputee, geriatric, cancer, and post-burn conditions.
He is a prolific contributor to peer-reviewed medical literature, with over 25 published journal articles in national and international journals including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Journal, Bangladesh Medical Research Council Bulletin, KYAMC Journal, and Cureus. His research covers a diverse range of topics including knee osteoarthritis, lymphedema, carpal tunnel syndrome, stroke rehabilitation, low back pain, and ergonomics-related musculoskeletal disorders.
Dr. Emran has participated in numerous workshops and training programs in teaching methodology, research methodology, biostatistics, musculoskeletal ultrasonography, electrophysiology (NCS and EMG), cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, and the use of generative AI in academics. He is a member of the Bangladesh Medical Association, the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM), a Life Member of the Bangladesh Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (BSPMR), and a Life Member of the Association of Physicians of Bangladesh (APB).
