Prof. Dr. Ayesha Yasmin

Translational Physiology & Pharmacological Safety: Mitigation of drug-induced nephrotoxicity using accessible prophylactic agents (e.g., Vitamin E/Fish Oil) to improve pharmacological safety in clinical practice.

Hematological and Genetic Epidemiology: Epidemiological assessment and genetic profiling, including G6PD enzyme status and color blindness, crucial for informing regional drug safety and vocational guidance.

Endocrine and Metabolic Health: Public health and clinical studies on metabolic disorders (e.g., Thyroid function in Type 2 Diabetes) and maternal health issues (e.g., Iodine status) to guide clinical management and public health policies.

Competency-Based Medical Education (CBE) and Quality Assurance: Leadership in CBE reform, focusing on curriculum design, evidence-based assessment, and enhancing clinical correlation in Physiology teaching.

Research interests center on:

  • Endocrine and metabolic diseases with a particular focus on mechanisms involved in development of thyroid disorder in type 2 diabetes.
  • Exercise physiology particularly how exercise influence metabolic functions.
  • Interventional pulmonology with a primary focus on advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for lung diseases including airway obstruction and lung carcinoma.
  • Medical education with particular emphasis on innovative teaching and assessment strategies for undergraduate medical students.

Related above mentioned research projects were conducted and already published in peer- reviewed journals and some projects are ongoing for further contribution to the development of medical science.

Dr. Mst. Nur Naher

My research interest include Neurophysiology, particularly on EEG, Epilepsy , and Non-pharmacological intervention. Alongside neurophysiology, I am deeply interested in student psychology, especially the growing challenges faced by young learners. This includes:

  • Academic stress and anxiety
  • Mobile phone and social media addiction problems
  • Behavioral and emotional changes in students

My actual goal is to improving student well-being, academic performance, and overall quality of life.
